Ancaster, Ontario – The Board of Edifide is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Schat as its new Executive Director. Edifide is delighted to have Jonathan lead the next stage of our development as we seek to enhance our employment services to our current membership and live into our renewed vision by expanding the provision of our services to new members across the province and beyond.

Jonathan comes to us with fourteen years of experience in labour relations and employment services during his tenure with the Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC).  Prior to his work with CLAC, Jonathan spent several years in the Christian education system as a high school history teacher.  This combination of his labour relations expertise and his tie to the Christian education system are key components as he takes on the role of our next Executive Director and moves us forward together as we live into our renewed and refreshed vision.

Jonathan’s passion for the vision and mission of our Christian schools and his understanding and pursuit of justice are clearly aligned with the foundational beliefs of Edifide.

‘We are excited to have Jonathan join our organization as he is a gifted relationship builder, advocate, and labour relations specialist. He has a passion to see Christian schools and individuals flourish influenced by his own background as an educator. His strengths in mediation, networking, facilitation, and negotiations enable him as Executive Director to bring people together to foster an understanding of shared vision and mission’.
– Maureen Jarvis, Executive Chair of Edifide & John Knox Christian School Special Education Director

‘Jonathan is uniquely prepared to take this position for such a time as this. He is a relational, joyful listener who is solution focused. He has an intimate knowledge and understanding of the Christian School movement in Ontario and I am thankful he feels called to take on the position of Executive Director of Edifide’.
– Eric Lammers, teacher and Vice-Principal at Quinte Christian High School, Belleville
